"The Rose and the Princess" was born as an independent project in July of 2006, based on two personal concerns: The wish of honor the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's book
"The Little Prince", trying to captive part of it spirit, part of it poetics; and the need of visual experimentation since the formal, applying different techniques of film making.
The idea was to develop a movie by layer.
The closest references were the silent films -and in particular
Georges Méliès's films-, the first technicolor, and hand-colored movies...
a handcrafted cinema.
With regards to a self-management project, the aesthetic searching extended on free time of Jobs activities.
The final composition process demanded 5 months of work where was integrated the live action with the matte paintings and 3d elements, besides the realization of the VFX and the music score.
